  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL) Manager

    As the MEAL Manager, you will oversee our thematic pillar for accountability, ensuring that project evaluations, impact assessments, and third-party monitoring (TPM) initiatives maintain the highest technical benchmarks and operational transparency.
    We believe that diverse perspectives strengthen analysis, improve methodological quality, and lead to more credible and actionable findings.
    Key Responsibilities
    - Identify strategic opportunities and contribute to institutional growth and business development.
    - Lead the acquisition lifecycle, including intelligence gathering, consortium formation, technical methodology design, and financial planning.
    - Provide independent field verification and site-level monitoring to ensure compliance with formal specifications and rigorous resource management.
    - Serve as a lead evaluation consultant across a diverse portfolio of multi-sectoral projects.
    - Execute Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with critical stakeholders and project leadership.
    - Facilitate capacity-building for enumerators on specialized digital tools, ethical safeguards, and gender-sensitive data literacy.
    - Synthesize complex data into actionable intelligence and evidence-based strategic recommendations.
    - Develop comprehensive evaluation reports utilizing DAC criteria and incorporating multi-stakeholder perspectives.

    Qualifications
    - Advanced university degree (Master’s preferred) in International Development, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    - Minimum of 8–10 years of professional experience in MEAL, development consulting, or research management, with at least 5 years in a senior management capacity, preferably in fragile or conflict-affected contexts.
    - Demonstrated expertise in OECD-DAC evaluation criteria, mixed-methods research design (quantitative and qualitative), and the application of Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) methodologies.
    - Proven ability to synthesize large datasets and complex qualitative findings into clear, evidence-based strategic recommendations.
    - Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to bridge communication between field teams, management, and international donors.
    - Full professional proficiency in English; fluency in Dari and Pashto is strictly required.

  • Climate Change Specialist

    Role Overview
    In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for interventions focused on climate resilience and food systems. You will ensure that our evaluations, research studies, and environmental assessments are scientifically rigorous, policy-relevant, and culturally attuned to the realities of Afghanistan’s rural livelihoods.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    - Lead Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and climate vulnerability mapping for development partners.
    - Design and execute robust baseline and endline evaluations for irrigation, climate-resilient agriculture, and food security programs.
    - Advise on the structure and sequencing of climate adaptation strategies for rural development.
    - Identify and engage suitable stakeholders, community leaders, and agricultural experts for research consultations.
    - Coordinate closely with the MEAL Unit to ensure climate metrics are effectively integrated into reporting frameworks.
    - Support the preparation of technical briefing materials and background notes on natural resource management.
    - Provide expert advice during the implementation of field research in remote provinces.
    - Prepare and submit high-quality final technical reports and learning briefs.

    Qualifications
    - Advanced university degree in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
    - Minimum of 5–7 years of specialized experience in climate adaptation, rural development, or agricultural research within Afghanistan.
    - Demonstrated ability to manage field-based research and data collection in volatile or remote environments.
    - Excellent understanding of climate policy, environmental sustainability, and agricultural value chains.
    - Strong report-writing and analytical skills, with a focus on synthesizing field data into strategic insights.
    - Excellent command of English and fluency in local languages (Dari/Pashto).
